My name is Olha Norba and I am an artist, devoting my whole soul to creating and recording my emotions - the whole palette of feelings, which keeps me feel that I am alive. Everything is art and in order to see it, you will definitely hear from others that you need to open your eyes. But in my art life I follow the point of Paul Gauguin, who said: “I shut my eyes to see”. The real thing for me while painting is what I feel, what I hear, what I smell, my experience, attitude towards others and to the world, how I hear my soul and what it says to me. Such impressions I interpret on the canvas or paper, honestly opening my thoughts, fears, happiness or illusions for people. The whole picture of me that you see, is in the same time the portrait of the nature, whose child I am.

Loving art with the whole heart, I am fond of Impressionists setting up the principle: “We must not be content to memorise the beautiful formulas of our illustrious predecessors. Let us go out and study beautiful nature.” (Paul Sezanne).

The art I create tends to be simple and clear. You do not have to understand it, you need to feel it. I am not intended to invent something new but to observe the greatest artist – our nature – and „reveal the inner essence of objects, extract from the external chaos of things the order hidden in it.” (Paul Sezanne).

I think that each person is an artist in his or her own way. We have been created as sophisticated creatures, having the rich world of undiscovered fantasy and intuition. I view my task as an artist like Renoir: „Mastery, perhaps, is not so much to acquire the means of expression, but to understand the truth of the own inner "Ego", which opens for an artist a certain language. Art is about emotion; if art needs to be explained it is no longer art.” (Renoir).
